Information rights activist Pradeep Kashid sought information from Home Department on October 10. Information was given to the Home Department not to receive any written or verbal order from the Chief Minister regarding withdrawal of the cases registered during the Maratha movement. After three months, the decision to appoint a committee in the wake of the delay in the state government was taken.

The Maratha community seems to be taking an aggressive agitation soon in the state, this
time not just for their long pending demand of the Reservation but also for the unfulfilled
promise that was made by the CM Devendra Fadanvis. The Marathas have blamed that they
have been betrayed by the CM as even after 3 months, the CM Fadanvis is not able to fulfill
his promise made to the Maratha community of revoking the criminal cases registered
against the innocent Maratha agitators during the agitation that took place on 29th July.
However the government has now formed a committee to look into the matter.

On October 15, the home ministry has said that they haven’t received any written or oral
orders yet to revoke criminal charges, since the Home ministry is with the Chief Minister,
the Marathas are now blaming that CM has deceived them. Just to control the agitation and
safeguard his position the CM Fadnavis is repeatedly lying to the Maratha community, said
the coordinators of Maratha Kranti Morcha.
