As building the most awaited magnificent statue of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar before the Parliament and Assembly elections in the year 2019 is impossible; the state government has come up with a new solution. Therefore it has been said that the CM Devendra Fadanvis’s government has decided to make a ‘Bhimjyot’ at Dadar’s Chaitybhoomi to influence the Dalit voters.
On 6th December of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Mahaparinirvan Day, the government has decided to set up a ‘Bhimjyot’ (Lamp) that will light up 24×7. This plan was proposed by Social Justice Minister Rajkumar Badole and CM Fadnavis has given a green signal to it.
Before BJP came to power in the state, they announced their agenda of building the grand International memorial of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. Earlier Congress-NCP government had fixed the location Indu Mill of Dadar for Ambedkar’s memorial. They had also sent the proposal to central government, but before it could get sanctioned, the Congress government lost the power in State & Center as well.
After the BJP government came in power at the center and the state, the central government sanctioned the place of Indu Mill for the memorial and handed it over to the state government. But since last four years the state government could not do anything to build the memorial. Therefor to calm the anger amongst the Dalit voters, the state government was looking for several options and they decided to go with ‘Bhimjyot.’
The work of making ‘Bhimjyot’ will be started from this week. Currently there is a lamp that is lit up 24×7 at the memorial of Martyrs and late Shiv Sena Supremo Balasaheb Thackeray. In the same way, there will be lamp at Chaityabhoomi in the respect of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. Mahanagar Gas Company has got agreed to provide gas supply for this. This work will be done before 6th December. Mumbai’s senior architect Shashi Prabhu has been given the task of setting up this lamp.

In front of the Ashoka pillar at Dadar’s Chaityabhoomi, a stage will be created which will be covered and protected with glass cover. Distinguished artisan Deepak Patkar will do the work. The work of ‘Bhimjyot’ will be completed within a month.
