Although the Congress President Rahul Gandhi is being trolled most of the time on Social Media, he has surpassed Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the popularity factor on social media. Yes you have read it right. As per the latest scenario of Social Media, Rahul Gandhi is getting more likes for his postings then the PM Modi. During 2014 Lok Sabha elections BJP has used Social Media as a major medium to win the elections, the Modi & BJP supporters trolled Gandhi by referring him as ‘Pappu’ but now the picture has changed. Rahul Gandhi has rapped the BJP and so the PM Modi on social media. Rahul Gandhi’s tweet is getting more engagements than Modi. Meanwhile, the cartoons made by MNS chief Raj Thackeray are getting tremendous response on social media in Maharashtra.

Rahul Gandhi has been trolled very badly on social media but this picture is seems to be changing as most of his post on social media are getting high likes and good comments too. Instead of calling him ‘Pappu’ People have started accepting Rahul Gandhi’s thoughts in a serious manner. PM Modi’s tweets are getting likes around 20 to 21 thousand whereas Rahul’s tweets are getting likes around 29 thousand only. Even some of the random tweets by PM Modi are getting only 2 to 3 thousand likes however all the tweets posted by Rahul Gandhi has been seen to get at least 10 thousand likes.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi is getting more popularity than Narendra Modi. From last two days the tweets posted by both Modi & Gandhi, were monitored by ‘My Mahanagar’. Modi recently wished BJP president Amit Shah on his birthday on twitter, this tweet got about 20,000 likes, 4 thousand people have retweeted it. Before this tweet, he had received 21 thousand 782 likes for the tweet on the program of the Azad Hind Fauz Sena. For the tweet on Mahatma Gandhi received only about 2 thousand likes.

Rahul Gandhi, on the other hand, is scoring a good level then Modi on twitter. Four out of five tweets till Monday, have received more than 10 thousand likes. One of his tweets for Amritsar train accident has received whopping 29 thousand Likes and it was retweeted by 7 thousand people. Also very recently Rahul Gandhi has published a video related to Ambani and Modi, it has also got more than 16 thousand likes, about 2,000 people have commented on that and 5000 people retweeted it.

Low response to the political leaders of Maharashtra on social media

Social media has been used very effectively by political parties and candidates for election campaigning. ‘My Mahanagar’ has reviewed the social media presence especially Twitter handle of several prominent leaders of Maharashtra including Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, former Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, Congress State President Ashok Chavan, former Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. These leaders’ gets very less number of likes as compare to the Center government leaders. CM Fadnavis’s last 5 tweets till Monday got around thousand likes only. The state’s former Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan’s tweet receives very less response. His last 5 tweets till Monday have around 180 to 350 likes only.

Meanwhile, Raj Thackeray’s Cartoons becoming popular on Social Media. The general tweet of MNS chief Raj Thackeray has been receiving the similar response like other leaders but whenever he tweets his cartoon, it receives around 3000 Likes.
