Adding one more feather in his cap, the team India Captain Virat Kohli has created stunning record by becoming the fastest-ever batsman to reach 10,000 in ODI on Wednesday. In his 205th innings against the West Indies in Visakhapatnam, Virat has surpassed the God of Indian Cricket Sachin Tendulkar, who first crossed the 10 thousand runs in 259 innings in 2001.

In the second One-Day International against West Indies, with his spectacular performance of scoring 157 runs, Kohli achieved this milestone record after crossing 81 runs. In the history of ODI cricket, Kohli has become the fastest batsman to reach 10K runs in just 205 innings.

Kohli has scored 10076 runs at an average of 59.62 in his ODI career. Kohli is second when it comes to batting at an average of 59.62. Tendulkar had to play 259 innings of 266 ODI to cross the 10K run mark whereas Kohli has scored 10K in just 205 innings of only 213 matches that includes 37 centuries and 48 half-centuries

Kohli has become the 13th player in the world and the fifth batsman in India to cross the 10 thousand runs in One Day cricket. Prior to Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid and Mahendra Singh Dhoni have marked this record of making 10,000 runs in ODI.

However this was not the only record Kohli made in this match. After scoring 48 runs in the same match, he became the topper in the list of Indian batsmen to score highest runs in the ODI against the West Indies. Achieving this record, Kohli surpassed Sachin Tenduldak by 1573 runs. Kohli scored 1684 runs in 29 innings against the West Indies at an average of 70.16.
