Bandra Police became Recovery Agent, tortured a Businessman

Few days before the complainant Kasif Khan had some money transaction with Biren Selarka, who lives in the Bandra area, but there was a dispute between the two on the exchange of money.

Taking the serious action on the complaint lodged by the Businessman of Mumbai, the 2 Police men and 4 constables of Bandra Police station have been suspended. The complainant Kasif Khan has alleged that 2 police men forcefully brought him to the police station and kept in the Detection room. They tortured him for few hours and forced him to sign on the two cheques. Post the incident Kasif lodged a complaint.

Gajanan Chormale, Dhanaji Sathe, Shridhar Waghmare, Kundan Kadam and Anil Chaudhary are the names of the suspended police. Chormale and Sathe are the police officers, while the other four are constables. These officers and constables are in the Crime Recovery squad of the Bandra Police Station.

Kasif Khan had made a complaint regarding this in Bandra police station in August. The Crime Investigation Team officer Choramale and Sathe called Kasif at the police station in the night. Kasif was kept in the detection room illegally. The other constable pressurized and tortured him and made him sign on 2 cheques from his wife’s bank account. They further made him to pay Rs. 7, 50, 000 cash to Biren Selarka. Police also made him sign some documents.

The matter was investigated as soon as a complaint was lodged with the senior police officer. Six policemen were found guilty in this case and they are suspended from the service.
