The thief Vinod Ashok Pawar, a lemon seller was challenging police since long time. There were many complaints registered against stolen car tapes, Police were unable to trace him. However the Malbar Hill Police accepted this challenge and arrested him.
In the last few days, the complaints about car tape stolen from cars were increasing in many areas of Mumbai. Along with the Malabar Hill area, cases of stealing of car tapes were registered in various police stations. The team of Malabar Hill Police planned a trap to catch this thief. In just two days on 9th and 10th August, he stole car tapes worth Rs. 11 thousand from Innova car in the Malabar Hill area.
Earlier also this thief Vinod Pawar had stolen many car tapes but it never got recorded in the CCTV camera. But this time he was caught in CCTV and the police team able to arrest him. Police have recovered all the stolen car tapes from him. The accused has been sent to judicial custody. With his arrest of this accuse, the cases of stolen car tapes in several police stations in Mumbai will also be exposed. The thief Vinod Pawar (35) lives in Malad. He used to sell lemons, from last several months he started stealing car taps from parked cars in different places and sell it elsewhere.
In the two days on 9th and 10th August, Vinod broke the glass of an Innova car in the Malabar Hill area with the help of his partner. In this case, a complaint was lodged by the owner of the car in Malabar Hill Police station under Section 379, 427, 34 of the complaint.
Senior police officials ordered to arrest the thief immediately as complaints of stolen car tapes were increasing day-by-day. When the police arrested him, he confessed all his crimes. He used to come on FZ motorcycle and with the help of his partner they used to break the car’s mirror and steal the tape. In such a way he had stolen car tapes in Juhu, Malvani, Bangur Nagar, Dongri, Sir J. J. Mag, Charkop Bhoiwada, Vileparle. Vinod Pawar is currently in judicial custody and Police is investigating all the crimes done by him.
Following the guidance of senior police inspector Vinod Kamble, the team of Police Sub-Inspector Nilesh Baner and Police Inspector Anil Rathode has done great job to arrest him.

Vinod Pawar lived in Malwadi, Ambujwadi slums in the Malad west. According to the police, as a lemon seller he was not getting any good income so he started stealing car tapes. Juhu, Malwani, Bangur Nagar, Dongri, Sir J. J. Marg, Charkop, Vileparle and Bhoiwada police stations have also booked complaint against him. He has confessed to all these crimes.

“In many parts of Mumbai, this thief was stealthily stealing the car tapes. In the past, many such complaints were reported in various police stations. On 9th and 10th of August, car tapes were stolen in the Malabar area. According to the complaint received after this theft, we started the investigation and received footage that shown the thief came on motorcycle and broke the car’s mirror and stolen the tape. From this footage we have managed to arrest the accused. The accused has confessed to various other crimes as well. Further investigations are ongoing.”
