MSEDCL (Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited) has been criticized for reinstating its 55 suspended employees in the service. Charge sheet was filed against all these employees for taking bribe and therefore they were eventually suspended too. Although the cases against these employees are going on in the court, yet they have been retained on duty by MSEDCL. These employees were caught red handed while accepting bribe by Anti-Corruption Bureau. So this act of MSEDCL is said to be going against Anti-corruption bureau.
MSEDCL has been criticized a lot as it is motivating such corrupt people. But stating that the financial condition of MSEDCL is very poor, so it is not possible to recruit new technical staff, the MSEDCL has reinstated its suspended employees. MSEDCL has said that due to the shortage of technical staff and officers, we had to reinstate the suspended employees in MSEDCL
According to the government manual, the employee who has found guilty in any criminal case and matter is pending in the court; the employee can be taken back in service only after six months and till the time employee can get half salary. If employee is proven guilty by court then he will be sack from the job and if he is acquitted in the case, he would get all the compensation and promotion too.
Earlier, some employees of MSEDCL were arrested in the serious allegations like murder. Suspension action was taken but later according to the rules these employees was taken back in the service.

In 2016, I was working as an Executive Engineer in MSEDCL in Jalgaon, I was suspended for 2 years under corruption charges. Now, in June, we got orders for joining services again. I am very confident that I was innocent and I was deliberately punished due to the internal office conflicts. During these Two years of suspension I and my family faced many mental and financial problems.

The suspended employees have been reinstated as per the rules only. The suspended employees and officials should forget the past and start working with positive attitude and enthusiasm. Whatever the decision will come by court, Action will be taken on those employees according to the rules.
