Saddam Hussein, a 20-year-old man, suffered serious injuries in legs; he got big fractures in both the legs. The person, who helped the injured passenger Sandesh Davane, also suffered with several injuries. Railway announced a compensation of only Rs. 5 thousand for Saddam and Rs. 500 to Sandesh.
On Friday afternoon, the incident took place at Vidya Vihar railway station ticket counter when the truck loaded with bricks overturned. Three passengers were stuck under this truck. They were immediately rushed to Rajawadi Hospital. Saddam Hussein (20), Vishnu Baikar (54), Sandesh Davane (25) and Dinesh Giri (34) were injured in the accident.
Saddam Hussein, a young man, suffered severe injuries on both legs. Bones of both of his legs are broken. He cannot walk for at least six to seven months. In such a situation, the railway was expected to compensate Saddam with much bigger amount but Railway is giving him only 5 thousand rupees. This has sparked big outrage in Saddam’s family against the railway.
Bhim Army President Ashok Kamble has alleged that the Railway Officers are responsible for this accident. A brick-laden truck was brought here to build a drainage line at Vidyavihar Railway Station. The station master had requested to bring this truck in night; however the contractor brought the truck in the morning when it was a crowded time. The truck’s tire broke and the truck overturned on the wall of ticket window. Due to the serious injuries Saddam will not be able to do hard labor work throughout his life. Therefore Saddam’s family has demanded that the Railways should give him government job and proper compensation.
As soon as the accident took place, Sandesh Davane rushed to the spot and he helped the stuck passengers to come out from those bricks. But during the help he also suffered several injuries, his legs were hurt. He was also admitted to Rajawadi Hospital. When Vidyavihar railway station master Ashok Nikam and railway doctor came to visit Sandesh, he was given a paper by the officer. The letter mentioned the compensation of Rs. 5000 but railway officer was giving him only Rs. 500. When he raised question on this, the officials tried to covered up their fraud saying it was given by mistake.

We will take the entire information; the passengers will be compensated as per the provisions in Railway. As the work was about to complete on time, the Contractor’s truck went to the spot in morning.
