Youngsters rushing for Cosmetic Surgery in J.J. hospital

Many youngsters feel to look beautiful like film actors and actresses. Many youngsters working in the corporate sector are ready to do anything to look beautiful. This is why the long queues are seen in this newly started cosmetic surgery section in J.J. hospital.

Since the cosmetic surgery section has started in Mumbai’s J.J. hospital, it is getting very good response from city and across the state. The surgeries like Lips augmentation, face marks removal, hair loss, mole removal, changing breast and chin size etc. This section was started under the plastic surgery department in July. Since the section has begun, young girls and boys are queuing here in order to make them beautiful. At-least 20 to 25 patients attend the OPD section, which is twice in a week.

Citizens have many misconceptions about cosmetic surgery. The numbers of aspirants are increasing as they come to know that the surgery is being done in free of cost in J.J. hospital. We thought the number of patients from Mumbai would be more; but the number of patients coming from Ambernath, Bhiwandi, Nashik is also significant.

Number of people wants to go for surgeries like obesity reduction, nose, lip, chin, cadaveric surgery, but such surgery costs are very high. Therefore many people could not afford it. Since the cost of such surgery has become very low in J.J. hospital, many young people rushing to get the surgery done. About 80 to 90 people come to the OPD of the plastic surgery department, which runs twice a week and the patients for cosmetic surgery is around 20 to 25. Along with Mumbai and suburbs, most of the patients are from Ambarnath, Bhiwandi and Nashik.

After the cosmetic surgery section was started in J. J. Hospital, under the guidance of the Dean of the hospital Dr. Mukund Tayde and Medical Superintendent Sanjay Surase, the department had organized the first ‘cosmetic surgery operative camp’ on 23rd and 24th of July in the hospital. In this camp, 18 people were registered for surgery. Of these, 10 were operated successfully. These surgeries included reducing stomach fat, surgery of breasts and nose, liposuction, reducing oral marks etc, informed Dr. Chandrakant Gharwade, head of Plastic Surgery Department.
