Saira Sayyed, (57) who lives in Pimpri Chinchwad in Pune have set an amazing example of how one must get education may whatever is the situation. Saira has completed education of her three daughters, facing many difficulties throughout the life. Today two of her daughters are Computer Engineers and one has completed higher education.
From last 36 years, Saira is doing cycle repair work in Pimpri. Whatever earning she used to receive from this small work, Saira took care of her family and her daughter’s education. Today all her hard work has paid off when she sees her three daughters are highly educated. Two of them are married.
Saira Nazir Syed was educated till 12th standard and then was married to Nazir in 1982. Within the three months of her marriage she got a job offer in Central government but as her father-in-law refused let her do the job, she could not do it. After some years, her husband got ill and was unable to work. Although her main source of income was stopped but she had decided to teach her daughters. Her husband had opposed her decision but Saira was very sure about it. Going against her husband she sent her daughters in the school. And to earn money for their livelihood and daughter’s education she started the bicycle repair work in the open space behind her house.
Fortunately her small business was running good, she could earn thousand rupees per month. That time to remove the puncture the charge was only 0.60 rupees. Now the same puncture is charge of rupees 20.
Her daughters completed their education till 10th in the Marathi school. “My daughters were also very supportive to me, they never demanded anything. At times they used to wear old clothes given by others. Saira broke down while telling us this. Today, I feel proud of my daughters, said Saira.
Her daughters also too the efforts to complete their education, they also did any small work they came across. Today, all are highly educated, Vahida and Sajida are working as computer engineers in the prominent company of Hinjewadi and third daughter Nilofer is in Medical business. Saira’s husband passed away five years ago.
“Do any business with dedication may it is small or big, you will definitely be successful in that. Also do not get angry if you have only daughters. You must support and educate them as they are not less than anyone. I will continue working till I am able to, I won’t be dependent on anyone,” said Saira.
