Almost all the Ganapati Mandals have completed preparations to welcome their beloved lord ‘Ganapati Bappa’. The Mandals which sees huge crowd of devotees like Lalbaug Cha Raja, GSB Public Ganeshotsav Mandal and Andheri Cha, are prepared with huge decorations and tight security managements. In order to avoid any untoward incident during the Ganesh festival, the Mandals have taken insurance cover for their Ganapati and its Pandal. The GSB Ganpati Mandal which is known as Golden Ganpati has taken insurance cover of Rs. 264.65 crores. Following this, the Lalbaug Che Raja Mandal has taken insurance for Rs 25 crores
Ganesh festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy in the state and especially in Mumbai. In this, the public Ganesh festivals Mandals are the center of attraction for many across the world. It consists mainly, Lalbaug Cha Raja, Andheri Cha Raja, and GSB Public Ganesh Festival Mandal.
Lakhs of devotees visits these Mandals every year. Therefore, there are various security measures are taken by the Mandals to prevent any inconvenience to devotees. There is a possibility of some chaos to be created by some insidious people. A large number of police force is on duty 24×7 during the festival. To prevent any inappropriate incident during the Festival insurance cover is taken by the Mandals as a precautionary measure. The GSB mandal has the highest sum insured this year, a sum of 264 crores of insurance cover taken by them. The Lalbaug Cha Raja Mandal is followed by GSB to insured a sum of Rs. 25 crores this year. In Lalbaug Cha Raja Mandal, the insurance covers include Rs. 5.5 crore for Ganpati’s jewelry, Rs. 5 crore for devotees visiting and Rs. 2.5 crore is for the entire Pandal decoration.
Another famous Ganpati Mandal in Lalbaug, the Ganeshgalli Mandal has also taken insurance core for Rs. 5.5 crores. The Girgaon Cha Raja has also taken insurance of Rs. 5 crores, said Mandal’s member Ganesh Lingayat. This year, the Andheri Cha Raja, which has been decorated in replica of the temple of Chintamani in Thurur of Ashtavinayak this year, has insured sum of Rs. 5 crores 54 lakh 50 thousand. It includes insurance for ornaments, devotees and pandal, said Mandal spokesman Uday Salian.
