The Bharat Bandh call by opposition parties against the Patrol hike got a lukewarm response in Mumbai on Monday. Life largely remained unaffected, except few scattered incidents of damaging buses, taxis, auto rickshaws and rail block. Although the Bandh could not make any great impact, the MNS party worker JayantDandekar a ‘Dwarf’ who is ‘ShakhaPramukh’ (Branch Head) imprinted with his active participation in Bandh.
As MNS Chief Raj Thackeray also decided to join the Bandh, the MNS activists were seen very aggressive in the Bandh. From morning 6 am, Dwarf JayantDandekar whose height is just 4 feet tall. Since morning he actively participated in the Bandh without any hesitation. His height never restricted his work and his passion. He stopped buses, trucks, tempos and auto rickshaws during the agitation. Seeing his active participation, the other MNS party workers of MNS also got excited. As a result, Bharat Bandh got a very good response in Vikhroli area.
JayantDandekar proved that height doesn’t matter if you are passionate enough for your work. Despite being Dwarf, Dandekar is always a step ahead in helping needy. Although his height has become his special identity, he is also well known for his social work in Vikhroli.

The MNS protests started in Vikhroli railway station area. They got support from Congress and NCP workers too. On the backdrop of the agitation, notices were issued to all political leaders and representatives. Dandekarhad received four such notices in a day on Monday. Police were very sure that if Dandekar takes active participation in the Bandh, it would be very successful in Vikhroli. Therefore Police warned him to not to get involved in the protest. However, ignoring the police notices, Dandekar came out on the streets for the common man’s problems. His protest in a very polite way, he politely tells every shopkeeper to keep their shop closed and ask motorist to not to drive. As people in his area have a respect and some fear too, people did not oppose him.Police tried to control Dandekar and his activists but Dandekar firmly said to Police that he will definitely continue the agitation.
55 years oldDandekar is known for his social work, he is a Commerce graduate. The long beard, three wheeler motor cycle and the saffron mark on the forehead is a unique identity of Dandekar.
