Save farmers, Devotees writes emotional letter to Lalbaugcha Raja

The problem of farmer’s suicides has become critical across the country including Maharashtra. To stop these suicides, the devotees have now appealed to their beloved lord by giving the letter to the Lalbaugcha Raja. The letter has an emotional appeal that says “Last year, in my hometown many farmers committed suicide, however please do not let any farmer commit suicide henceforth.” The farmers have posted such emotional letters in the donation box kept at Lalbaugcha Raja. This year large number of such letters is found in the donation box. This has duly attracted the attention of Mumbaikars.

The Lalbaugcha Raja is widely known as the lord who fulfills the wishes of his devotees. So every year a large number of Ganesh devotees come here to fulfill their wishes. Those devotees whose wishes are fulfilled, gives cash or gold-silver ornaments at the Raja’s feet. Also put money and some things in the donation box. But since past few years, a large number of letters to save farmers are being collected from this box.

This year also thousands of devotees have put such emotional letters in Raja’s donation box. According to the information provided by the Mandal’s workers, every day 100 to 150 letters are deposited in the box. These letters also has other vows like to get married, get admissions, to get job, get home, asking for University result and about Maratha Reservation too. – Mangesh Dalvi, Treasurer, Lalbaugcha Raja Mandal

Since last few years, devotees have started depositing letter in the donation box. This year too, we received many letters especially that has emotional appeal to save farmers. The letters are in Marathi, Hindi and other languages too.
