Mumbai may give some sigh of relief to Congress party in upcoming LokSabha elections, revealed in the internal survey conducted by Congress through Nielsen Company. The survey says Congress would definitely win 2 LokSabha seats out 6 in Mumbai region. The BJP, a ruling party in Maharashtra, has also done a survey last weekin the state which stated that it will be a tough situation for the party in upcoming elections.Since BJP got to know their status, the Congress party had also initiated a survey but they limited their survey to Mumbai only. As the 2019 elections are near, political parties have started their internal survey to know what would be the voter’s mandate, what voters are actually thinking about them.

Meanwhile there are possibilities for Congress and NCP to contest elections together with 50-50 formula. The survey conducted by BJP shown that it will not be easy for the party if they are contesting the elections without an alliance with Shiv Sena, BJP is said to face a major losses in elections. The survey says that the fate of 40 BJP MLAs is in danger, so the party has started giving an ultimatum to these MLAs. About 2 lakh 80 thousand voters were questioned in the survey conducted by Congress. In the North-Mumbai constituency, PriyaDutt has chances to win if she is given the candidature. Since the number of Muslim voters in this constituency is about 65 percent, it was also checked in the survey that if the candidature is given NasimKhan, how much it would benefit the party. The survey reveals that despite being a Muslim, NasimKhan would not get votes from Muslims instead the voters have shown preference to PriyaDutt. Also in this constituency if PoonamMahajan from BJP and Dr. Deepak Sawant from Shiv Senagets a candidature then there are high chances of Dutt to win amongst them.

According to the survey, if VarshaGaikwad is given candidature instead offormerSouth-Central Mumbai MP EknathGaikwad, then there are possibilities of tough fight here. But wining this constituency will be a difficult task for Congress as VarshaGaikwad is not ready for LokSabha elections and EknathGaikwadis the favorite of only 35% voters. NDA’s candidate RamdasAathavle gets 34% whereas if Rahul Shewale of Shiv Sena gets the candidature again, he has high chances of winning the seat again.
